What does a Project Manager do?

Assumes responsibility for the day-to-day management of the project throughout all its stages.

  • Manages – people, progress, quality, deliverables, costs, changes, technology
  • Facilitates – issues, progress, problems, relationships
  • Motivates – staff, users and sub contractors
  • Controls – issues, changes, requirements, versions, releases, budgets
  • Communicates – progress, problems and plans
  • Designs – the approach, the team and the solution
  • Plans – progress
  • Documents – progress, plans, applications

Manages and Facilitates:

  • Technology, people and change in order to achieve goals, reach targets and deliver on time.
  • The client relationship by using an adequate complete and formal reporting format

Motivates:

  • The project staff by creating an environment conclusive to the delivery of the new application in the most cost effective and effective manner.
  • By leading, pushing and driving the project whilst ingesting stress and pressures until the project reaches the required goal.

Controls and Communicates:

  • The constituents, progress and direction of the project by achieving goals, reaching targets and delivering on time.
  • The business justification and requirements, by regular reviews and controls, to ensure that the client receives the system that he wants and needs.

Designs, Plans and Documents:

  • The project by establishing its format, directions and base lines, that allow for variance measurements and change control.
  • All stages of the project to agreed quality standards

And What Else?

  • Defines and reviews the Business Case and Requirements, by regular reviews and controls, to ensure that the client receives the system that he wants and needs.
  • Instigates and plans the project by establishing it’s format, directions and base lines, that allow for variance measurements and change control.
  • Controls the constituents, progress and direction of the project by achieving goals, reaching targets and delivering on time.
  • Manages technology, people and change in order to achieve goals, reach targets and deliver on time.

  • Drives the project by leading, pushing and motivating whilst ingesting stress and pressures until the project reaches the required goal.
